There's No Place Like Home

Many people wonder why it is that their trees need so much attention. After all, if you look at a forest that hasn't been touched in decades, most of the trees look perfectly healthy.
The issue is that the urban environment is far from what trees naturally live with. Trees in the city have to deal with unusual factors such as soil compaction, air and water pollution, extreme temperature fluctuations, limited space for canopy and root development as well as physical damage from human activity.
Urban forestry is essentially the art of helping trees and humans coexist.
